The Moon 风月同天
In different cultures the moon has many different beautiful legends and symbolic meanings. For individuals, everyone has their own stories and feelings about the moon in their hearts or memories.
This work is inspired by the residents who lived in The Arlington House — a homeless hostel based at Camden, London. We each have our own different experiences but we all share the same earth. When you look into the sky, when you hear the different moon from the others story, don't judge. As the old saying in China: "Different sites share same sky."
This is a collaboration with Nazzi, an artist who had lived in Arlington for years. Taking her painting work "The Moon" as a part of this installation, I re-produced a digital 3D modeling work of a changing moon. By projected on a textured canvas, the two different works about the moon came alive as a whole different meaning together. Ideas and thoughts can be communicated by visual work.
