After Decay of the Aura

With the time changing and development of technology and the constant transformation of values in different era, the art works that used to be seen as sacred and noble emblem are being translated into different meanings. As mentioned in Walter Benjamin’s The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction,the fortune of artwork is changing because of mass mechanically-produced copies.

"Venus" was chosen as an artistic image in this work. I tried to simulate the methods of mechanicallyreproducing the work in different eras to show the process of how art work starts to lose its sacred and noble emblem and value and be accepted by the masses. It leads to my thinking about the contradiction and compatibility between

traditional art and digital information time after the age of mechanical reproduction.
